Vortrag von Lyana Francot (VU Amsterdam)
Nächste Woche
Dienstag, am 10. Dezember 2019, wird Lyana Francot (VU Amsterdam)
Gast im Forschungskolloquium des Arbeitsbereichs "Recht und
Gesellschaft" sein. Thema ihres Vortrags ist: The Future Has Begun – Legal Temporalities in
Modern Society. Lyana Francot ist
Visiting Fellow an der Faculty of Law, Legal Theory and Legal History der Vrije
Universiteit Amsterdam.
Das Thema des Vortrags beschreibt Francot
wie folgt: "Can we prevent that the
law, characterized by a persistent slowness, becomes obsolete in an
increasingly complex, accelerating society? Modern law may seem without
competition when it comes to providing predictability and certainty but in a
highly uncertain and volatile societal environment, the legal tempo is often
perceived a problem. This problem is exacerbated by the contemporary strong
focus on the future, f.e. in the debate about climate change. It seems that the
future already has begun, confronting the legal system with the necessity to
step up its game and to become either future-proof or redundant."
Der Vortrag und
die anschließende Diskussion finden ab 16:15 Uhr in X-B2-103
statt. Interessierte sind herzlich eingeladen!
