Lecture by Prof. Dr. Ralf Stoecker: Diversity at eye level - On the importance of human dignity for our understanding of inclusion, diversity and participation

As part of the ZAB Accessibility Forum, Ralf Stoecker, Senior Professor of Philosophy in Bielefeld, will be giving a lecture on "Diversity at eye level - On the importance of human dignity for our understanding of inclusion, diversity and participation". Since 2008 at the latest, when the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities came into force, it should be clear that everyone has the right to live in an inclusive and diverse society in which they can actively participate.

SHUFFLE spring meeting in Freiburg

This year's spring meeting of the SHUFFLE project took place in Freiburg on March 21 and 22. A total of 21 people from the four partner universities Bielefeld University, Stuttgart Media University and the Universities of Education in Heidelberg and Freiburg took part.

Symposium "Studying with mental illness: Current findings and need for action on the way to an inclusive university"

Mental illness is by far the most common form of impairment among students with disabilities or chronic illnesses. At Bielefeld University, almost 60% of students with a disability or chronic illness state that they are affected by a mental illness. Mental illness has a particularly detrimental effect on studies. Almost 84% of affected students report that their illness affects their studies to a moderate to very high degree.

SHUFFLE at the AAATE 2023 in Paris

From Aug. 30 - Sept. 01, 2023, SHUFFLE members from ZAB and AG9 from Educational Sciences attended the International Conference of the Association for the Advancement of Assistive Technology in Europe in Paris, France.
