The collaborative project SHUFFLE is set to continue its funding through the "Innovation in Higher Education Teaching" foundation, which has approved an extension until the end of December 2025, extending the original duration by 17 months.

SHUFFLE at the AAATE 2023 in Paris

From Aug. 30 - Sept. 01, 2023, SHUFFLE members from ZAB and AG9 from Educational Sciences attended the International Conference of the Association for the Advancement of Assistive Technology in Europe in Paris, France. ZAB becomes member of IAAP D-A-CH

Since June, ZAB is a member of the German-speaking branch of the non-profit organization International Association of Accessibility Professionals. Among other things, the IAAP supports organizations in professionalizing their competencies and strategies in the field of accessibility in order to make services, products and infrastructure sustainably accessible. All IAAP members consider themselves "United in Accessibility" and are committed to advancing the topic of digital accessibility. We are excited to be a part of this community of professionals and to share and expand our knowledge in the field of digital accessibility.

2nd round of "AccessAbility" successfully completed

The last week of the semester is coming to an end and so is the 2nd round of the ZAB peer mentoring programme "AccessAbility". Before the beginning of the non-lecture period, all participants met again to share experiences from the past semester and to arrange learning groups for the non-lecture period at "Peers & Pizza". There was also a lot of fun and games were played until late in the evening. We would like to thank all the participants and are looking forward to the next semester and to new participants!

Gaming with your head: Dennis Winkens presented inclusive computer gaming at the 2nd ZAB - Forum Accessibility

Dennis Winkens, better known as WheelyWorld on Twitch, is paraplegic from the neck down and supports other gamers with similar disabilities. He controls his computer, his games and everything else that goes with it exclusively with his mouth. As an "Ambassador for Gaming without Borders", he is committed to inclusion both within and beyond the gaming world.

2nd ZAB - Forum Accessibility: Gaming with the head - Inclusive gaming

This time's guest is Dennis, known on Twitch as WheelyWorld. The avid gamer is paraplegic from the neck down and will introduce us to how he uses the QuadStick to play computer games as an "Ambassador for Gaming without Borders";. He will report which added value computer games can have and where inclusion can be found in this area. Afterwards there will be the opportunity to play with and against Dennis!
