Ana María Miranda Mora received her PhD in Philosophy (2021) from Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM), Mexico City. She is currently a DAAD Postdoctoral Fellow at the Center for Interdisciplinary Gender Studies at University of Innsbruck, and lecturer in "Gender and Queer Studies" at Alice Salomon Hochschule in Berlin and "Feminist Philosophy" at Justus-Liebig-University Giessen, in Germany. She is also co-coordinator of the graduate course "Feminisms of the Global South: decolonial and postcolonial perspectives" in the Postgraduate Program in Gender Studies at UNAM in Mexico City.

Geannini Ruiz Ulloa, Universidad de Bielefeld

Geannini Ruiz Ulloa es magíster en Literatura Latinoamericana por la Universidad de Costa Rica y licenciada en Filología española por la misma universidad. Ha sido profesora en diferentes sedes de la Universidad de Costa Rica y tutora de la Universidad Estatal a Distancia. Actualmente, se encuentra cursando sus estudios de doctorado en la Universidad de Bielefeld gracias a una beca del Servicio Alemán de Intercambio Académico (DAAD). Dentro de sus intereses de investigación se encuentran la literatura centroamericana, el teatro, la literatura colonial, el análisis del discurso y las representaciones de la violencia en el arte.

José Carlos Lozano, Texas A&M International University

Dr. Jose Carlos Lozano is Chair of the Department of Psychology and Communication and  Professor of Media Theories and Research at Texas A&M International University (Laredo, Texas).  He got his M.A. in Communication Research from Leicester University, England and his Ph.D. in International Communication and Media Studies from the University of Texas at Austin. He was Director of the Graduate and Undergraduate Programs in Communications, and Director of the Research Center in Communication from 1992-2012 at the Tecnológico de Monterrey, Mexico. There, he founded the Observatory of Media and Culture of Lawfulness, devoted to the monitoring of Mexican news media coverage of organized crime and the War on Drugs, coordinating long-term analyses of many different daily newspapers and television news shows. Lozano is the author of numerous books and journal articles in the areas of mass an international communication, in particular a textbook in mass communication theories widely used in Mexican and Latin American schools. He is a Regular Member of the Mexican Academy of Sciences since 2007.

Profesora investigadora del departamento de historia de la Universidad de Guadalajara. Su campo de investigación se centra principalmente en el estudio de los imaginarios y las representaciones sociales en México, a través del análisis crítico de los discursos cinematográficos, literarios, pictográficos y de los medios de comunicación, desde un enfoque semiótico y del Análisis Crítico del Discurso Multimodal. Asimismo, es autora y coautora de numerosos artículos y capítulos de libros, responsable del Cuerpo Académico UdG 571 “Cultura, lengua y sociedad” e imparte las materias de Análisis del discurso, Análisis Valorativo de textos, Semiótica cultural e Historia de la Cultura y ha impartido Semiótica del cine, Seminario de proyecto de investigación, y Análisis del Discurso Histórico, entre otros.

Vladimir Safatle is Professor in the Department of Philosophy and the Department of Psychology at the University of São Paulo. Currently he is Visiting Researcher at the New Institute in Hamburg. He examines the relationship between philosophy and human sciences, especially psychoanalysis and psychology, in contemporary French thought and the Frankfurt School. He is also an expert in Lacanian Thought and Leftist Politics. His research interests include Hegelian philosophy, post-Hegelian dialectical tradition, as well as the philosophy of music.

He is widely experienced in promotion, research and capacity building of agrobiodiversity value chains and inclusive business models linking farmer organizations with private sector companies, cooperating with development countries’ public and private sector actors, self-help organizations and non-governmental organisation in Latin America, Africa and Asia. 24 years of experience with design, implementation and evaluation of rural development cooperation projects and Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) in Latin America and Africa for donors such as EU, IFAD, USAID, BID, GIZ, BMZ, BMUB. He holds a Magister in Latin American Studies and Legal Studies from Bielefeld University and a Master's Degree in International Public Policy from Johns Hopkins University, as well as an Executive Master's Degree in Innovative Governance of Large Urban Systems from the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne.

Simón Henao recibió su doctorado por la Universidad Nacional de La Plata (Argentina) y es investigador del CONICET. Actualmente es profesor de LIteratura Latinoamericana en la Universidad Nacional de La Plata (Argentina). Simón Henao es profesional en estudios literarios de la Universidad Javeriana de Bogotá y candidato a Magíster en literaturas española y latinoamericana de la Universidad de Buenos Aires donde presentó la tesis “Figuraciones de la comunidad en la obra R.H. Moreno-Durán”. Sus principales áreas de investigación son la Literatura Latinoamericana y el Cine Latinoamericano.

Marcos Pablo Moloeznik es profesor-investigador del Departamento de Estudios Políticos del Centro Universitario de Ciencias Sociales y Humanidades de la Universidad de Guadalajara e investigador nacional del Consejo Nacional de Ciencia y Tecnología (CONACYT). Ha sido profesor huésped de varias universidades en Alemania, Argentina, España, Estados Unidos, Holanda y Polonia, así como del Colegio interamericano de Defensa, Washington, D. C. Es Doctor en Derecho por Facultad de Derecho de la Universidad de Alcalá, España y tiene un Magister en Defensa Nacional de la Escuela de Defensa Nacional de Buenos Aires. Sus principales líneas de investigación y generación de conocimiento son el Derecho Internacional Humanitario; la inteligencia estratégica; las Fuerzas Armadas en América Latina; el proceso de militarización de la seguridad pública en Latinoamérica y México; así como seguridad como política pública en México.

"Transnational Families in the Age of Deportation: The Case of Ecuadorian Indigenous Returned Migrants"

Gioconda Herrera, FLACSO Ecuador/ GIGA Hamburg

Dr. Gioconda Herrera is Professor at the Latin American Faculty of Social Sciences (FLACSO) in Quito, Ecuador and currently visiting fellow at the GIGA Institute for Latin American Studies in Hamburg. Her research and publications have revolved around questions about the effects of globalization on social inequalities in Latin America from a gender perspective, for which she has looked at Andean migration to Europe and the United States, especially of women and Indigenous peoples, and also at the migratory returns and circularities that have taken place as a result of the global economic crisis. She currently is investigating the post-deportation life of Indigenous migrants in rural communities of Ecuador, and is part of a comparative research team of eight countries on Venezuelan migration in Latin America. She chairs the Sociology and Gender Studies program at FLACSO. Gioconda was Associate Editor of the Latin American Research Review in the area of Sociology. She has been recently elected President of the Latin American Studies Association for the period 2020 to 2021.

Gloria Chicote es profesora de Literatura Española de la Universidad Nacional de La Plata (Argentina), Investigadora Principal del CONICET y directora del Instituto de Investigaciones en Humanidades y Ciencias Sociales (IdIHCS). Se especializa en literatura medieval - renacentista y en las manifestaciones populares de la literatura iberoamericana. Entre sus últimos libros se encuentran Voces de tinta, en coautoría con Miguel A. García (2008), Romancero (2012) y Redes intelectuales en América Latina: Los universos letrado y popular en la primera mitad del siglo XX (2014). Fue becaria del Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst, el Ministerio de Asuntos Exteriores de España y obtuvo la Beca Georg Forster de la Fundación Alexander von Humboldt. Ha desarrollado estadías de investigación y ha dictado conferencias en Brasil, México, Alemania, España, Francia, Italia, Inglaterra, Portugal, Polonia y Bosnia.

PD Dr. Frederik Schulze is currently Substitute Professor for Ibero-American History at the University of Bielefeld. He was Postdoctoral Fellow in the History of Knowledge at the German Historical Institute, in Washington, D.C.. Frederik Schulze has worked as Assistant Professor in Global and Latin American History at Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster, Germany from 2013 to 2021 where he wrote his Habilitation in Modern History, venia legendi as of October 2021 with the title: “Wissen im Fluss. Der lateinamerikanische Staudammbau im 20. Jh als globale Wissensgeschichte”.

Frauen- und Geschlechterrechte werden in aller Welt hinterfragt und angegriffen – oft aus politischem Kalkül. Wie und warum es dazu kommt, das erörterte die Forschungsgruppe "Global Contestations of Gender and Women‘s Rights" (Weltweite Anfechtungen von Frauen und Geschlechterrechten) des Zentrums für interdisziplinäre Forschung (ZiF) seit Oktober 2020. Auf der Abschlusstagung vom 10. bis 12. März 2022 werden die Ergebnisse präsentiert.
