Welcome to the 2nd Cohort of RTG 2951 Doctoral Researchers!
The Research Training Group “Cross-Border Labour Markets” (RTG 2951) is excited to welcome 11 new doctoral researchers who started on April 1 at the Bielefeld and Duisburg-Essen branches.
Please join us in welcoming our new international and interdisciplinary team: Miral Fahmy, Gaelle Gibon, Gunes Ozcoban, Franziska Schrader, Weiyan Xu, Katharina Hauck, Varsha Joshi, Michael Koppel, Mia Chi Nguyen, Davis Weidemann, and Greta Wienkamp.
Selected from 278 applications, they will explore cross-border labour markets and the transnational organizations, infrastructures, and institutions that shape them from divers angles: They will carry out research on different professional labour markets such as labour markets for fashion models and engineers, on different transnational labour markets such as the India–Germany, Vietnam-Japan and China-Africa migration corridor, different forms of digital platform work and the effects of different institutional arrangements such as citizenship, skills recognition and policy frameworks.
The new cohort was warmly welcomed by speaker Ursula Mense-Petermann and co-speaker Karen Shire.
For the individual projects see here.
We look forward to their insights and wish them a great start!
