Im Oktober 2026 startet am Arbeitsbereich Mediensoziologie das DFG-geförderte Projekt Re:SEP „Rethinking Disinformation as Socio-Epistemic Practice". Das dreijährige Projekt wird von Dr. Christina Laut-Berger geleitet und ist gemeinsam mit 13 anderen Projekten im interdisziplinären Schwerpunktprogramm „Re:Dis – Rethinking Disinformation" (SPP 2573) der Deutschen Forschungsgemeinschaft angesiedelt. Ziel des Projektes ist es, die epistemischen Praktiken digitaler Verschwörungstheorie-Gruppen qualitativ zu vergleichen, um die sozialen Verzahnungen epistemischer Aushandlungsprozesse von (Des-)Informationen beschreibbar zu machen.

In October 2026, the DFG-funded Re:SEP project, ‘Rethinking Disinformation as Socio-Epistemic Practice’, will commence in the Media Sociology working group. The three-year project is led by Dr Christina Laut-Berger and forms part of the German Research Foundation’s (DFG) interdisciplinary priority programme ‘Re:Dis – Rethinking Disinformation’ (SPP 2573), alongside 13 other projects. The aim of the project is to conduct a qualitative comparison of the epistemic practices of digital conspiracy theory groups in order to describe the social interconnections of epistemic negotiation processes involving (dis)information.
