New publication on global climate and health policies
Global climate policies and public health policies
are closely interlinked. Climate change affects
multiple social and environmental determinants of health. At the same
time, the mitigation of climate change depends on changes in lifestyles and the
provision of food security. ‘Planetary health’ has become a synonym for
the challenges at the nexus between both policy areas. In a
recently published paper, Holger Straßheim compares forms of expertise and
coordination dealing with these nexus challenges at the global level. The
article overlooks this newly emerging landscape and draws lessons for practitioners
as well as future research. Open access: https://doi.org/10.1111/1467-8500.12618
