Conference on Policy Process Research in Bern
From 20 to 23 January, the working group Comparative Politics & Public Policy was represented at the Conference on Policy Process Research (COPPR) at the University of Bern. Sonja Blum and Nora Habelitz participated in several discussions about the Narrative Policy Framework as well as emotions in policymaking.
Emotions are increasingly recognised as a driving force that shapes politics and how policies are formed, debated, implemented, and more. A roundtable on Emotions in Public Policy discussed new conceptual approaches and methodological innovations, including speakers Sonja Blum, Anna Durnová, Allegra Fullerton, Claudio Radaelli, and Christopher Weible. Within a panel exploring new frontiers in Narrative Policy Framework research, Nora Habelitz presented her paper How do emotions shape Italy's policy debate on energy poverty? Policy Narratives and Target Groups between 2017 and 2022.
