New Publication: Exploring Pathways into Right-Wing Extremist Violence in Public Spaces by Denis van de Wetering
We are pleased to highlight a new scientific publication by Denis van de Wetering from the Institute for Interdisciplinary Research on Conflict and Violence (IKG).
The article, "Whatever We Came Across Got It Right in the Gob". A Qualitative Study on Pathways into Right-Wing Extremist Violence in Public Spaces, has recently been published in the current issue of the Kriminologisches Journal.
Based on thirteen interviews with former members of right-wing extremist Kameradschaften (fellowships), the study examines how individuals become collectively acting violent subjects in public spaces. Drawing on the context-sensitive microsociology of violence, the article explores how affectively charged practices and normatively grounded orientations connect right-wing extremist ideology with the enactment of violence.
