We are happy to announce that in the summer term 2021, Professor Mark Brown from the State University of California (CSU), Sacramento, USA, will join the Working Group 'Political Sociology' (Holger Straßheim). Mark will teach a master course on 'Critical Whiteness Studies in Science and Policy' and engage in an international and interdisciplinary exchange on the the 'History and Politics of Racism and Anti-Racism'.

Mark received multiple awards including the 2014 Outstanding Teaching Award from his college. He has been a Professor at the Department of Government at CSU since 2013 and a visiting fellow at the Department of Philosophy, Bielefeld University, in 2011. Mark's stay will be funded by the International Guest Lectureship Programme at Bielefeld University, the Faculty of History, Philosophy and Theology and the Faculty of Sociology (applicants: Holger Strassheim and Carsten Reinhardt).
