UPDATE: Vortrag von Prof. Dr. Anja Iseke findet nun am 2. Juli 2020, 11-12 Uhr, via zoom
Im Rahmen des BiGSEM Research Seminar (Management) hält Prof. Dr. Anja Iseke (Technische Hochschule Ostwestfalen-Lippe) am 2. Juli von 11-12 Uhr einen Vortrag zum Thema "How does job autonomy influence job performance? A meta-analytic test of theoretical machanisms".
Abstract: We meta-analytically examined an integrative framework that links job autonomy to job performance. Results from a summary of 319 studies and 151,134 participants showed that, on average, job autonomy had a positive impact on job performance through both motivating and strain-reducing effects. By differentiating three dimensions of job autonomy (decision-making, method, and scheduling autonomy), we found a positive effect on job performance only for decision-making and method autonomy, while the relationship was insignificant for scheduling autonomy. Together, our findings demonstrate the utility of (a) considering multiple theoretical mechanisms, and (b) differentiating all three forms of job autonomy, in order to obtain a broader and more complete picture of the job autonomy – job performance relation with its positive and negative effects.
