University representatives explore partnership with the province of Alberta
Canadian guests on return visit to Bielefeld University
In which specific fields of study could cooperation be viable between the higher education regions of Alberta in Canada and Ostwestfalen-Lippe (OWL)? This was the main topic during a visit to Bielefeld University by Doug Weir (Executive Director, Student Programs and Services, University of Alberta) and Meghan McKinnie (Manager, Education Abroad and International Partnerships, MacEwan University).
They met up with representatives of the higher education institutions in OWL in order to continue partnership discussions between OWL and Alberta. The President of the University of Lethbridge (Canada) already came to Bielefeld back in June 2015. In October 2016, Bielefeld University’s Rektor Professor Dr.-Ing. Gerhard Sagerer, Professor Dr. Angelika Epple (Bielefeld University’s Vice-Rector for International Affairs and Diversity), and Christian Schröder (Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences) travelled to the province of Alberta. The contact between the universities came about during Gerhard Sagerer’s lecture tour of Canada in 2014.
