Prof. Dr. Markus Nebel new Vice Dean of the Faculty of Technology
Prof. Dr. Markus Nebel was elected as the new vice dean of the Faculty of Technology. He will support the actual dean of the faculty Prof. Dr. Philipp Cimiano.
Prof. Dr. Markus Nebel started working at Bielefeld university in april 2016 and is head of the research group Algorithmics and Bioinformatics.
His science addresses algorithmic questions. He investigates the efficiency of algorithms and data structures trying to improve them. A second emphasis of his work are Bioinformatics. Here the group researches the folding of RNA molecules, its algorithmic prediction as well as the denoising of big sequence data volumes.
