Upcoming Symposium "Understanding Risk in Time, Social Reproduction, and Market: The Commodification and Universalisation of a Social Construct"
The symposium Understanding Risk in Time, Social Reproduction, and Market: The Commodification and Universalisation of a Social Construct brings anthropologists and sociologists together whose works have in one way or another illuminated risk’s varying relationship to time and space, social reproduction and the market. The symposium features Arjun Appadurai (New York University), Deborah James (London School of Economics; Fellow of the Wissenschaftskolleg 2022/2023), Ursula Mense-Petermann (Bielefeld University), Andrea Muelebach (University of Bremen), Tobias Werron (Bielefeld University), and is moderated by Minh Nguyen (Bielefeld University; Fellow of the Wissenschaftskolleg 2026/2027).
