The IKG is looking forward to the new year 2021.
Some dates have already been set:
January 20:
Handover of the report on the Framework Conditions of Germany's Integration Capacity to the German government; Prof. Dr. Martin Kroh, Prof. Dr. Oliver Razum and Prof. Dr. Andreas Zick are involved in the report.
February 3:
Guest talk on Corona and Social Inequality as part of the Research Class by former colleague Dr. Andreas Hövermann, who now works at the Hans Böckler Foundation in Düsseldorf. Also speaking will be Simon Kühne from the Department of Sociology, who coordinates the SOEP Science Campus of DIW and Bielefeld University.
February 18-19:
Zif working conference Fear and Peace, which Yaatsil Guevara González and Prof. Dr. Andreas Zick organized together with Prof. Dr. Joachim Michael & Sebastián Martínez Fernández (Maria Sibylla Merian Center for Advanced Latin American Studies in the Humanities and Social Sciences / Center for InterAmerican Studies at Bielefeld University) and Prof. Dr. Roberto Briceño-León (Universidade Federal do Ceará/Universidad Central de Venezuela).
February 26:
MAPEX conference at ZIF, where we present a new book and the online platform MAPEX. This is the first time the ICG offers such an interactive platform. Manuela Freiheit and Andreas Uhl will be able to present it to the IKG.
March 24-25:
The MisMiE project participates in the "Challenges for Europe" conference of the Volkswagen Foundation and presents the first final results of the European collaborative project. Yaatsil Guevara González is the contact person here.
April 15-16:
The BMBF collaborative project for networking and supporting the individual projects funded in the call "Societal Causes and Effects of Radical Islam in Germany and Europe" in research syntheses and knowledge transfer with decision-makers and the professional public (RADIS) holds the kick-off event at ZIF. Manuela Freiheit and Andreas Uhl are contact persons.
June 6:
DFG catches up with the 20 Years Communicator Award event in a conference on science communication.
June 29-30:
Zif working conference Microaggressions with our close partner Prof. Dr. Lisa Spanierman (Arizona).
October 28-29:
IKG 25th Anniversary and Conference. Here we still have to see how the pandemic develops and what is possible.
