Extended Deadline for Abstract Submissions: International Conference on Conflict and Violence Research 2025
We are excited to announce that the deadline for abstract submissions for the International Conference on Conflict and Violence Research 2025 has been extended to February 28th, 2025! This extension provides additional time for researchers to prepare and submit their contributions to this interdisciplinary event, hosted by the Institute for Interdisciplinary Research on Conflict and Violence (IKG) at Bielefeld University from September 17th to 19th, 2025.
The conference will explore the multifaceted connections between climate change, conflict, and violence from a global and interdisciplinary perspective. We invite scholars from diverse fields—such as psychology, sociology, political science, public health, environmental studies, history, and more—to share their research, insights, and innovative solutions. Whether you are an early-career researcher or an established academic, your contributions are invaluable to fostering a deeper understanding of these pressing global challenges.
Key themes include, but are not limited to:
- Societal and intergroup conflicts related to climate change, such as resource disputes and environmental justice movements.
- Political ideology, activism, and violence in the context of climate change.
- Global health and well-being challenges arising from climate-induced crises.
- Migration and displacement driven by climate change, and their social, political, and economic impacts.
- The role of media and communication in shaping public perceptions of climate change and conflict.
- Historical perspectives on environmental crises and their lessons for the present and future.
We encourage you to submit your abstracts (max. 1250 characters, approx. 200 words) by the new deadline of February 28th, 2025, via the submission link provided in the original call. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a multidisciplinary dialogue and collaborate with experts from around the world.
