PhD Conference in Historical Studies: Lund Network – York – Bielefeld 31 May – 2 June 2023, Bielefeld University
From May 31 until June 2, the History Department of Bielefeld University is hosting the annual PhD Conference in Historical Studies. The conference is a joint project in doctoral training of the Swedish National Graduate School of Historical Studies (Lund University, the University of Gothenburg, Linnaeus University, Malmö University and Södertörn University), the University of York (UK) and Bielefeld University.
Doctoral students practice concise presentations of their dissertation projects, which are then discussed in detail with peers and together with faculty members. In addition, faculty members of the partner universities are offering workshops that discuss current research projects and historical theories and methods. Thus, the research profiles of the participating faculties become visible, and teaching styles from three different academic cultures. These elements give the cooperation a distinctive - and nationwide quite unique - profile, which also brings the faculty members into contact with each other.
