Student workspaces with a low-stimulus environment and assistive technologies
With the student workrooms, the Accessibility Services (ZAB) support independent study for students who are dependent on a particularly low-stimulus environment or assistive technologies. The workrooms offer a neutral environment outside the home for concentrated preparation and follow-up work on study content.
The Theresia Degener Room (UHG B1-241) is available to students who require a low-stimulus working environment. It is equipped with partitions to reduce noise and is intended exclusively for individual quiet work. There are four workstations available.
The Louis Braille Room (UHG B1-243) is equipped with assistive technologies and provides workstations for the blind and visually impaired. It can be used by students with corresponding needs and their assistants. There are five workstations available.
The two workspaces can be used daily from 8:00 to 22:00. Access is only possible with a token. Students with disabilities, chronic or mental illnesses can contact the ZAB at zab@uni-bielefeld.de if they are interested and arrange a personal meeting.
