Accessibility

From 21 to 25 September 2026, the Accessibility Services (ZAB), in collaboration with NEOLAiA, are organising an international student week on the theme "Beyond Barriers: Accessible Studying in Practice”.

This week, students from the nine NEOLAiA universities are taking part in a varied programme comprising lectures, their own project work and excursions in Bielefeld, whilst getting to know the university and the city of Bielefeld. During the week, they will learn more about accessibility and inclusion at Bielefeld University, discover practical solutions for inclusive study, and engage in discussions with student initiatives. As part of a project, they will also develop their own ideas and initiatives which they hope to implement at their own universities.

The week aims to raise awareness of barriers that may arise during studies and to drive forward change at the NEOLAiA universities.
