Announcement: Lecture by Prof. Dr. Ralf Stoecker on Inclusion, Diversity, and Participation
An engaging lecture is upcoming as part of the ZAB-Forum on Accessibility. Prof. Dr. Ralf Stoecker, Senior Professor of Philosophy at Bielefeld University, will address the topic "Equality in Diversity – The Importance of Human Dignity for Our Understanding of Inclusion, Diversity, and Participation."
Since the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities came into effect in 2008, it has been clear that everyone has the right to live in an inclusive and diverse society and to actively participate in it. But how can this right be justified? Why are inclusion, diversity, and participation essential human rights? The answer lies in the concept of human dignity. In his lecture, Prof. Dr. Stoecker will explain how respecting these rights is closely tied to honoring human dignity and what implications this has for various societal areas.
The lecture will take place on June 18th at 7 PM in room X-E0-001 and will also be available via livestream. Registration for the livestream is possible here: Zoom Link.
Attending this event offers an opportunity to learn more about how to create an inclusive and diverse society that respects and promotes the dignity of all individuals. Further information about the event and accessibility can be found on the ZAB Portal. A lively exchange will be particularly encouraged by numerous on-site participants.
