In this semester, the colloquium series Understanding Asia is back with the theme 'Transforming Families'!

The program covers issues around LGBTQ+ reproductive citizenship in Taiwan, anthropology of crisis in Vietnam's industrial zones, bracketed belonging among Nepali Gurkhas and their families, and the rise of dynastic politics in Indonesia. 

Prof. Sara Friedman (Indiana University), Prof. Helle Rydstrom (Lund University), and Prof. Kelvin Low (National University of Singapore) are coming to Bielefeld University to give their lectures in-person. The talk from Dr. Jemma Purdey (Monash University) is going to be via Zoom only.
