New Publication: Handbook on Migration and Development: A Counter-hegemonic Perspective
Elgar has published the "Handbook on Migration and Development: A Counter-hegemonic Perspective", which is edited by Raúl Delgado Wise, Branka Likic-Brboric, Ronaldo Munck, and Carl-Ulrik Schierup. It features several contributions by members of the Faculty of Sociology. The chapter by Minh Nguyen and Jake Lin explores the connection between rural-urban migration, the commodification of labor, and welfare. Thomas Faist's chapter discusses the challenges of methodological nationalism and the potential for transnational methodology, and another chapter by Thomas Faist and Kerstin Schmidt examines the links between climate change, environmental degradation, and the reproduction of social inequalities.
