Scattered Minds: The Origins and Healing of Attention Deficit from Gabor Maté
Gabor Maté is a Canadian physician and psychologist of Hungarian origin. Drawing on his medical expertise and personal experience with ADD, he challenges the idea that attention deficit disorder is a genetic illness, showing instead how early life experiences shape brain development. Maté explores how emotional and attentional regulation can fail to form properly in infancy – yet can also be strengthened later in life. More broadly, this beautifully written and deeply human book offers a profound understanding of neurodiversity.
