Am 25. und 26. Februar 2027 finden die 2. Bourdieu Lectures an der Universität Bielefeld statt. Im Mittelpunkt der kommenden Tagung steht das Thema „Von der linken zur rechten Hand des Staates. Polarisierungen und autoritäre Transformationen“. Die Veranstaltung widmet sich der Aktualität von Pierre Bourdieus Staatsdiagnose angesichts gegenwärtiger Entwicklungen und stellt Analysen zu autoritären Transformationen, sozialen und politischen Polarisierungen sowie Veränderungen staatlicher Steuerungsformen im Kontext globaler Krisen in den Fokus. Das Format richtet sich insbesondere an Nachwuchsforschende am Beginn ihrer akademischen Karriere. Über Vortrags- und Workshopbeiträge bietet das Symposium ein interdisziplinäres Forum für theoretische und empirische Auseinandersetzungen mit Bourdieus Werk und schlägt eine Brücke zwischen seinen zentralen Konzepten und aktuellen sozialen Transformationsprozessen. Die Tagungsreihe ist eine Initiative der Universität Bielefeld, der Zeppelin Universität (Friedrichshafen), der Akademie der bildenden Künste Wien und der Pädagogischen Hochschule Freiburg in enger Kooperation mit der Fondation Pierre Bourdieu. Der Call for Papers und Workshops ist eröffnet; die Einreichungsfrist für Abstracts endet am 15. Juli 2026. Bourdieu Lectures 2027: Second Edition in Bielefeld On 25–26 February 2027, the 2nd Bourdieu Lectures will take place at Bielefeld University. The event focuses on the theme “From the left hand to the right hand of the state. Polarizations and authoritarian transformations” and highlights the contemporary relevance of Pierre Bourdieu's diagnosis of the state in light of current societal and political developments. Key areas of analysis include authoritarian transformations, social and political polarizations, and changing forms of state control amidst global crises. Aimed especially at early career researchers, the Bourdieu Lectures offer an interdisciplinary forum through lectures and workshops. The contributions link Bourdieu’s theoretical concepts – focusing on the state, inequality, authoritarianism, and polarization – to ongoing societal transformations. This conference series is an initiative by Bielefeld University, Zeppelin University (Friedrichshafen), the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna, and the University of Education Freiburg, in close cooperation with the Fondation Pierre Bourdieu.
