Philipp Wolfesberger is Research Associate and Managing Director of CIAS-Center for InterAmerican Studies at Bielefeld University. He holds a doctorate degree in Political Science of University of Vienna and was post-doc researcher at Regional Center for Multidisciplinary Research (CRIM) of National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). His interdisciplinary research has specialized on state formation, organized crime and human rights in Mexico; and on indigenous autonomy and violence. His current research project focuses on processes of solidarizations and temporalities in contexts of violence in the Americas. He is especially interested in the relation between solidarity and power and emancipatory forms of communitarian practices.
