Paths to a Professorship



On 2 July 2025 at 2 pm, the BGHS will host an online event entitled "BGHS Alumni's Experiences on the Way to a Professorship" with three BGHS graduates who have found their way into academic careers. Among them are:

Theo Jung, Professor of Modern and Contemporary History at the University of Halle (Germany)

José Antonio Villareal, Professor at the Facultad Latinoamericana de Ciéncias Sociales (FLASCO) Ecuador

Dorothee Wilm, Deputy Professor of Human Resource Management at Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences (Germany) In conversation with Clara Buitrago from the BGHS office, the scholars will talk about their own academic paths and ask themselves whether this has been a dream come true. They will also give tips on career paths in academia and answer questions. The event will be held in English.
