New Podcast Episode - Learning German
In this Episode of "Chances and Challenges - the BGHS Podcast" we will talk about a rather important topic, but one that is sometimes overlooked: Learning German.
It may sound trivial as a native germanspeaker to say: “You are in Germany, so learn german!” because that is way easier said than done. Especially during a doctorate, where you don’t have a lot of free time anyway. And what little free time you have, you should spend on yet more work. But, as we will see in this episode, it is a crucial part, not just for living in Germany, but also for being able to work and/ or stay here.
So first up, we will talk to Clara Buitrago, our coordinator for internationalization at the BGHS, about the importance of learning German and her own experiences with that. There will also be an interview with Andrea Didier, who is the team lead for PunktUm.
To those native german speakers listening to this episode: Please don’t skip it! You may learn about some challenges your fellow doctoral researchers are facing and get a different perspective, but we will also talk about things germanspeakers can do to help others learn their language.
