Four successful defences at the BGHS in January und February 2016

In January and February 2016 four doctoral researchers of the BGHS have successfully completed their dissertation projects. They are the alumni number 100 to 103 of the BGHS.

Juliana Werneburg is alumna number 100 of the BGHS. The sociologist wrote a dissertation to the topic Entstehen berufliche Ungleichheiten zwischen Geschlechtern in Partnerschaften? - Commitment anstatt Verhandlung und Macht in partnerschaftlichen Tauschbeziehungen [Business and Career Inequalities between Genders in Partnerships]. The defence took place on 22 January. The supervisors are Prof. Dr. Martin Diewald (Bielefeld University) and Prof. Dr. Jürgen Schupp (FU Berlin).

Magdalena Osmanowski is alumna number 101 of the BGHS. She defended her dissertation on the topic How Families Produce Inequality. Sibling Configuration and the Allocation of Resources Among Siblings sucessfully on 27 January 2016. Her supervisors are Prof. Dr. Martin Diewald (Bielefeld University) and Jun. Prof. Dr. Reinhard Schunck (Bielefeld University).

Miriam Bröckel is alumna number 102 of the BGHS. The sociologist wrote a thesis on the topic Rücken- oder Gegenwind? - Die Rolle des Partners für den Erwerbsverlauf [Partners and their roles for the professional career] and defended sucessfully on 17 February 2016. The two supervisors of Miriam Bröckel’s project are Dr. Katrin Golsch (Bielefeld University) und Prof. Dr. Martin Diewald (Bielefeld University).

Katrin Rack ist alumna number 103 of the BGHS. She also completed her dissertation on 17 Februar 2016. The historian wrote a thesis with the title Unentbehrliche Vertreter. Deutsche Diplomaten in Paris, 1815–1870 [German diplomats in Paris, 1815–1870]. Her supervisors are Prof. Dr. Willibald Steinmetz (Bielefeld University) und Prof. Dr. Angelika Epple (Bielefeld University).
