BGHS Visiting Fellows
On Wednesday (27 April) the BGHS Visiting Fellows 2016 introduced their doctoral projects to the BGHS community.
The four Visiting Fellows from Croatia, Poland and Romania – two historians and two sociologists – will use their time at the BGHS to work on their dissertation projects to the topics:
- Sergiu Delcea: Pro-urban welfare in agricultural countries? Economic Nationalism and the Origins of Welfare States in Central and Eastern Europe – Romania and Hungary compared
- Vedran Bileta: Masters and Commanders: The Changing Role of the Military Elite in the Late Roman West (AD 363-476)
- Elena Cristina Mitrea: The Transmission of Ideology across Generations: A Comparative Analysis
- Tomasz Hen-Konarski: Cossacks and Gauchos: Symbolical Representations of Unrestrained Masculinity in the Politics of the Nineteenth-Century River Plate and Ukraine
Visiting Fellow Sergiu Delcea presented his research projects on welfare states in Eastern Europe
Vedran Bileta presented his reserach to the changing role of the military elite in the Late Roman West
Visiting Fellow Elena Cristina Mitrea presented her research to the transmission of ideology across generations
Visiting Fellow Tomasz Hen-Konarski presented his research to Cossacks and Gauchos and symbolical representations of unrestrained masculinity
