Medical Assistance Systems

As part of the medical teaching module “Introduction to Technological Transformation in Medicine,” we had the pleasure of welcoming Dr.-Ing. Tamino Huxohl, Data Analyst at the Heart and Diabetes Center NRW, for a guest lecture. The focus of the talk was on current developments in medical imaging—particularly the use of artificial intelligence to analyze imaging techniques such as SPECT, CT, and MRI. Using concrete examples from clinical practice, Dr. Huxohl demonstrated how data-driven systems can support physicians in diagnosis and what opportunities arise from the intersection of computer science and medicine.
