Was ist PROMOS?

Das PROMOS-Programm ist ein Mobilitätsstipendium des Deutschen Akademischen Austauschdienstes (DAAD), das vom Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung (BMBF) gefördert wird. Ziel ist es, die internationale Mobilität von Studierenden zu erhöhen – besonders außerhalb Europas. Die Universität Bielefeld vergibt PROMOS-Teilstipendien über das International Office an Studierende, die kurzfristige Auslandsaufenthalte planen.

Die Förderung gilt für:

•  Studium (3 – 6 Monate)
• Abschlussarbeit oder Forschungsaufenthalt (6 Wochen – 6 Monate)
• Praktikum (6 Wochen – 6 Monate)

Wichtig: Die Aufenthalte müssen außerhalb des Erasmus-Raums stattfinden!

Wer kann sich bewerben?

Studierende aller Fachrichtungen der Universität Bielefeld, die einen qualifizierten Auslandsaufenthalt außerhalb des Erasmus-Raums planen, können sich bewerben. Es spielt keine Rolle, ob du bereits Auslandserfahrung hast oder zum ersten Mal den Schritt wagst – entscheidend sind Motivation, Qualität des Vorhabens und die akademische Relevanz.

Bewerbungstermine im Überblick:

📅 15. November 2024 → Für Aufenthalte ab Januar 2025

📅 31. Mai 2025 → Für Aufenthalte ab Juli 2025

💡 Hinweis: Das Bewerbungsportal wird jeweils vier Wochen vor der Bewerbungsfrist freigeschaltet. Für die aktuelle Runde ist das also ab dem 1. Mai 2025 der Fall.

Are you dreaming of studying abroad for a few months, doing an internship or researching your thesis - outside the Erasmus area? Then you should take a closer look at the PROMOS scholarship!

What is PROMOS?

The PROMOS program is a mobility scholarship of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), which is funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF). The aim is to increase the international mobility of students - especially outside Europe. Bielefeld University awards PROMOS partial scholarships via the International Office to students who are planning short-term stays abroad.

The funding is valid for:

• Studies (3 - 6 months)
• Thesis or research stay (6 weeks - 6 months)
• Internship (6 weeks - 6 months)

Important: The stays must take place outside the Erasmus area!

Who can apply?

Students of all disciplines at Bielefeld University who are planning a qualified stay abroad outside the Erasmus area can apply. It doesn't matter whether you already have experience abroad or are taking the plunge for the first time - the decisive factors are motivation, quality of the project and academic relevance.

Application deadlines:

📅 November 15, 2024 → For stays from January 2025 onwards

📅 May 31, 2025 → For stays from July 2025 onwards

💡 Note: The application portal will be activated four weeks before the application deadline. For the current round, this will therefore be the case from May 1, 2025.
