Hast du Ideen, wie junge Menschen in Europa politisch mehr mitmischen können? Denkst du, Demokratie kann mehr sein als Wählen gehen und Petitionen unterschreiben? Dann aufgepasst: Der Utopie Europa Preis 2025 geht in die nächste Runde – und du kannst dabei sein!

Unter dem Motto „Teilhabe und Engagement: der Jugend in Europa eine Stimme geben“ sucht der Wettbewerb kreative und realistische Konzepte, die junge Menschen stärker in politische Entscheidungsprozesse einbinden. Ob digitale Beteiligung, neue Plattformen oder lokale Initiativen – gefragt sind frische Ansätze, die echte Mitgestaltung ermöglichen.

Worum geht’s genau?

Der Utopie Europa Preis bietet Studierenden die Möglichkeit, interdisziplinär und praxisnah an einem gesellschaftlich hochrelevanten Thema zu arbeiten – unterstützt durch Workshops, öffentliche Debatten und Beratung durch Expert:innen. Ziel ist es, konkrete Beteiligungsformate zu entwickeln, die Selbstorganisation stärken und Demokratie zugänglicher machen. Am Ende winkt nicht nur Anerkennung – sondern die Chance, mit Entscheider:innen ins Gespräch zu kommen.

Der Ablauf auf einen Blick:

🧠 Bewerbungsphase:

Ihr entwickelt euer Konzept in einem Team und reicht es über eine betreuende Person an eurer Hochschule ein (Bewerbungsschluss: 30.04.25).

🏛️ Phase 1 – Workshops & Debatten:

An ausgewählten Hochschulen finden mit Unterstützung von DFH und IFD Veranstaltungen statt, in denen ihr euer Konzept weiterentwickelt und das Label „Utopie Europa“ erhaltet.

🎤 Phase 2 – Präsentation in Berlin:

Die besten Teams stellen ihre Ideen im Herbst 2025 in der französischen Botschaft in Berlin vor. Eine Jury kürt die überzeugendsten Konzepte.

🎉 Der Preis:

Das Gewinnerteam reist nach Straßburg, um dort mit europäischen Politiker:innen und Expert:innen über ihre Ideen zu diskutieren.

Wer kann mitmachen?

Studierende aller Fachrichtungen sind willkommen – besonders in interdisziplinären Teams. Egal ob Sozial-, Rechts-, Natur-, Geistes- oder Wirtschaftswissenschaft: Vielfalt ist ausdrücklich erwünscht! Wichtig: Die Bewerbung muss über eine verantwortlichen Person im deutschen Hochschulwesen eingereicht werden.

Do you have ideas on how young people in Europe can get more involved in politics? Do you think democracy can be more than just voting and signing petitions? Then watch out: The Utopia Europe Prize 2025 is entering the next round - and you can be part of it!

Under the motto “Participation and engagement: giving young people in Europe a voice”, the competition is looking for creative and realistic concepts that involve young people more closely in political decision-making processes. Whether digital participation, new platforms or local initiatives - we are looking for fresh approaches that enable real participation. What exactly is it about? The Utopia Europe Award offers students the opportunity to work on a highly relevant social topic in an interdisciplinary and practical way - supported by workshops, public debates and advice from experts. The aim is to develop concrete participation formats that strengthen self-organization and make democracy more accessible. The end result is not only recognition - but also the chance to engage in discussions with decision-makers.

Overview of the process:

🧠 Application phase:

You develop your concept in a team and submit it to your university via a supervisor (application deadline: 30.04.25).

🏛️ Phase 1 - Workshops & debates:

With the support of DFH and IFD, events will be held at selected universities where you will further develop your concept and receive the “Utopia Europe” label.

🎤 Phase 2 - Presentation in Berlin:

The best teams will present their ideas at the French Embassy in Berlin in fall 2025. A jury will select the most convincing concepts.

🎉 The prize:

The winning team will travel to Strasbourg to discuss their ideas with European politicians and experts.

Who can take part?

Students from all disciplines are welcome - especially in interdisciplinary teams. Whether social sciences, law, natural sciences, humanities or economics: diversity is expressly encouraged! Important: The application must be submitted via a responsible person in the German university system.

• You bring your vision to a big stage - maybe even to Strasbourg.

• You will network with committed students and experts from all over Europe.
