Invitation to the Doctoral Researchers’ Day – 8 July 2026
On 8 July 2026, the Graduate Centre at Bielefeld University (GrACe) is hosting the Doctoral Researchers’ Day. The event is aimed at PhD students and anyone interested in pursuing a PhD, and provides a space for information, discussion and networking across faculty boundaries. Highlights include the opening address by Prof. Dr Angelika Epple, the keynote speech “Writing a Dissertation in the Age of AI” by Prof. Dr Benjamin Paaßen, and various information sessions on topics such as generative AI, career paths, funding and mental health.
Highlights of the day:
- Welcome & Opening Remarks: In between: Doing a PhD in changing environments with Prof. Dr Angelika Epple, Chancellor
- Keynote by Prof. Dr Benjamin Paaßen: “Writing a Dissertation in the Age of AI”
- Information sessions on topics such as: deciding to pursue a PhD, generative AI tools, accessible PhD programmes, career decisions, funding & support opportunities during and after the PhD, and mental health
- Networking across faculty boundaries Information fair featuring PhD programmes and academic support services
