OAI-PMH Blog

This channel will communicate information related to harvesting and aggregating activities performed for BASE, the Bielefeld Academic Search Engine. We have processed almost 3000 repositories from all around the world, most of them continuously over extended periods with special attention on their long-term behavior. This work has produced a whole universe of experiences on harvesting and data quality in individual repositories. At this point, we would like to thank the repository admins and repository managers for the constructive communication! Repository characteristics, technical and content-related properties and attributes are massively varied and changing in the OAI repository world and the communication of such information, especially about modifications, could be improved. The BASE OAI Blog is aimed at improving the communication about "repository behavior" by sharing our experiences with you, the OA community.
