Bielefelder iGEM-Team holt erneut Gold in Boston
Auszeichnungen in vier Kategorien und Lob vom FBI
Am
vergangenen Wochenende (24.9.-28.9.2015) stellten zehn Studierende der
Universität Bielefeld ihr Projekt „Cell-free sticks – it works on paper“
beim Finale des Wettbewerbs der synthetischen Biologie iGEM
(International Genetically Engineered Machine Competition) in Boston,
USA, vor. Ziel des Projekts war es, einen Biosensor auf Papier zu
entwickeln, mit dem jeder K.O.- Tropfen und verschiedene Schwermetalle
schnell und leicht nachweisen kann. Für die Umsetzung ihres Projekts
wurde das Team mit einer Goldmedaille sowie in vier weiteren Kategorien
als bestes Projekt ausgezeichnet. Insgesamt nahmen 280 Teams teil.
Weltmeister wurde die Technische Universität Delft aus den Niederlanden.
