Du möchtest Wien kennenlernen und dich mit seiner Kulturgeschichte auseinandersetzen? Die univie: Winter School for Cultural Historical Studies lädt dich vom 29. Januar bis 12. Februar 2027 zu einem zweiwöchigen internationalen Programm an der Universität Wien ein.

Das Thema lautet „The Discovery of Modernity – Vienna Around 1900“. Im Mittelpunkt stehen Wiens bedeutendes kulturelles und intellektuelles Erbe vom späten 19. bis zum frühen 20. Jahrhundert und sein Einfluss auf die Modernisierung Europas.

Akademisches Programm und Wien entdecken

Das interdisziplinäre Programm verbindet akademische Lehrveranstaltungen mit einem umfangreichen Kultur- und Freizeitangebot. Vormittags besuchst du Vorlesungen, nachmittags stehen geführte Exkursionen durch Wien und Besuche verschiedener Museen auf dem Programm. Dabei kannst du dich mit Studierenden aus anderen Ländern austauschen und internationale Kontakte knüpfen.

Die Winter School richtet sich an Studierende verschiedener Fachrichtungen. Besonders interessant ist sie unter anderem für Studierende der Geschichte, Kulturwissenschaften, Kunst, des Designs, der Architektur, Literatur, Psychologie sowie Politikwissenschaft.

Stipendien für Studierende von Partnerhochschulen

Studierende von Partnerhochschulen der Universität Wien können sich um ein Stipendium bewerben. Die Bewerbungsfrist für Stipendien ist der 15. November 2026. Wenn du dich für ein Stipendium interessierst, solltest du deine Bewerbung bis zu diesem Termin einreichen.

Die allgemeine Bewerbungsfrist für die Winter School ist der 30. November 2026.

Teilnahmegebühr

Die Programmgebühr beträgt 1.790 Euro. Sie umfasst die Anmeldung, den Unterricht und alle geplanten Exkursionen. Wenn du nicht an der Universität Wien eingeschrieben bist, fällt zusätzlich eine Gebühr von 26,20 Euro an. Diese deckt die Zulassung als außerordentliche:r Studierende:r sowie die allgemeine Unfall- und Haftpflichtversicherung ab.

Are you interested in discovering Vienna and exploring its cultural history? From January 29 to February 12, 2027, the univie: Winter School for Cultural Historical Studies invites you to take part in a two-week international program at the University of Vienna.

The theme is “The Discovery of Modernity – Vienna Around 1900.” The program focuses on Vienna’s rich cultural and intellectual heritage from the late 19th to the early 20th century and its influence on the modernization of Europe.

Academic Program and Discovering Vienna

The interdisciplinary program combines academic courses with a wide range of cultural and social activities. You’ll attend lectures in the mornings, while afternoons are devoted to guided excursions around Vienna and visits to various museums. You’ll also have the opportunity to exchange ideas with students from other countries and make international connections.

The Winter School is open to students from a range of academic disciplines. It may be of particular interest to students of history, cultural studies, art, design, architecture, literature, psychology and political science.

Scholarships for Students at Partner Universities

Students from the University of Vienna’s partner universities can apply for a scholarship. The scholarship application deadline is November 15, 2026. If you wish to apply for a scholarship, please submit your application by this date.

The general application deadline for the Winter School is November 30, 2026.

Program Fee

The program fee is €1,790. It covers registration, tuition and all planned excursions. If you are not already enrolled at the University of Vienna, an additional fee of €26.20 applies. This covers admission as a non-degree student as well as general accident and liability insurance.

Du interessierst dich für ein Auslandssemester in Australien, Neuseeland, den USA oder Südostasien? Im November und Dezember bietet GOstralia!-GOmerica! wieder Online-Infosessions und Messetage für Studierende an, die ihren Auslandsaufenthalt planen möchten.

In den Sessions erhältst du Informationen zu den Zielländern, den Studienmöglichkeiten und dem Bewerbungsverfahren. Außerdem geht es um die Finanzierung deines Aufenthalts (u.a. Auslands-BAföG und verschiedene Stipendien).

10 Jahre Down Under & USA Messe

In diesem Jahr wird das 10-jährige Jubiläum der Down Under & USA Messe gefeiert! Zu diesem Anlass findet die Messe 2026 an zwei aufeinanderfolgenden Tagen in Köln und Stuttgart statt. An beiden Standorten erwarten euch jeweils rund 40 Vertreter:innen von Universitäten aus Australien, Neuseeland, den USA und Südostasien. Studierende und Alumni sind herzlich eingeladen, sich an den Messeständen und bei spannenden Vorträgen über Auslandssemester, Masterstudiengänge und Promotionsmöglichkeiten in diesen Regionen zu informieren.

Ein Besuch lohnt sich in diesem Jahr besonders: Unter allen anwesenden Studierenden verlosen wir vor Ort ein Vollstipendium für ein Auslandssemester an der Hawai‘i Pacific University in Köln sowie ein Vollstipendium für ein Auslandssemester an der Queensland University of Technology in Stuttgart.

10th Anniversary Down Under & USA Fair

This year marks the 10th anniversary of the Down Under & USA Fair! To celebrate, the 2026 fair will take place over two consecutive days in Cologne and Stuttgart. Around 40 university representatives from Australia, New Zealand, the USA and Southeast Asia will be attending at each location. Students and alumni are warmly invited to explore study-abroad semesters, Master’s programs and PhD opportunities at the exhibition stands and through engaging presentations.

There’s an extra reason to visit this year: they raffle off a full scholarship for a semester abroad at Hawai‘i Pacific University in Cologne and a full scholarship for a semester abroad at Queensland University of Technology in Stuttgart. The draw is open to all students attending the fair.

Du planst ein Auslandsstudium an einer US-amerikanischen Partnerhochschule deiner Universität? Fulbright Germany lädt deutsche Studierende ein, sich für das Reisestipendienprogramm 2027/28 zu bewerben. Die Bewerbungsfrist endet am 8. Dezember 2026 um 14 Uhr.

Wer kann sich bewerben?

Das Programm richtet sich an Studierende, die ihr Auslandsstudium im Rahmen eines deutsch-amerikanischen Hochschulpartnerschaftsprogramms organisieren und ganz oder teilweise selbst finanzieren. Voraussetzung ist ein mindestens dreimonatiges Vollzeitstudium an der US-Partnerhochschule. Der Studienaufenthalt muss entweder ab August/September 2027 oder ab Januar 2028 beginnen.

So bewirbst du dich

Die Bewerbung erfolgt über das Fulbright-Online-Portal. Im Bewerbungsformular gibst du die für Fulbright-Reisestipendien zuständige Person im International Office deiner Hochschule an.

Folgende Unterlagen musst du im Portal hochladen:

tabellarischer Lebenslauf auf Englisch
Hochschulzugangsberechtigung, zum Beispiel dein Abiturzeugnis
vom Prüfungsamt ausgestellte Leistungsübersicht mit Notendurchschnitt
Bachelorzeugnis, wenn du im Master studierst

Zusätzlich brauchst du zwei Referenzen. Sende dazu jeweils den im Portal erzeugten Link an:

eine promovierte Hochschuldozentin oder einen promovierten Hochschuldozenten, die oder der deine akademischen Leistungen einschätzt
eine Person, die Angaben zu deinem ehrenamtlichen Engagement macht

Plane genügend Zeit ein, damit deine Referenzgeber:innen ihre Angaben rechtzeitig einreichen können.

Bewerbungsschluss ist der 8. Dezember 2026 um 14 Uhr.

Wie läuft die Auswahl ab?

Nach einer formalen Prüfung erhält das International Office Zugriff auf die gültigen Bewerbungen der Studierenden der jeweiligen Hochschule. Das International Office nominiert anschließend fünf Bewerber:innen und bestätigt deren Teilnahme am Austauschprogramm. Fulbright Germany trifft die endgültige Auswahl. Dabei werden neben den Bewerbungen auch die Referenzen und die Angaben der Hochschulen berücksichtigt.

Über die Ergebnisse des Auswahlverfahrens informiert Fulbright Germany die Bewerber:innen ab März 2027. Ausgewählte Stipendiat:innen werden außerdem zu den German Programs Orientation Days im Rahmen des Fulbright Berlin Enrichment Seminars eingeladen. Diese finden vom 22. bis 25. April 2027 in Berlin statt.

Are you planning to study at a U.S. partner university? Fulbright Germany invites German students to apply for its Travel Grant Program 2027/28. The application deadline is December 8, 2026 at 2:00 pm.

Who can apply?

The program is intended for students who are arranging and funding, either fully or in part, a study abroad program at a U.S. university through a German-American university partnership. Applicants must plan to study full time at the U.S. partner university for at least three months. The study period must begin either in August/September 2027 or in January 2028.

How to apply

Apply through the Fulbright online portal. In the application form, provide the name of the person in your university’s International Office who is responsible for Fulbright travel grants.

Upload the following documents to the application portal:

Résumé/CV in English
Proof of university entrance qualification, such as your secondary school leaving certificate
An official transcript issued by your university’s examinations office, including your grade point average
Bachelor’s degree certificate, if you are currently a Master’s student

You will also need two references. Use the links generated in the portal to contact:

A university instructor who holds a doctorate and can comment on your academic performance
Someone who can provide information about your volunteer or community engagement

Please allow your referees enough time to submit their forms before the application deadline. The application deadline is December 8, 2026, at 2:00 pm.

What happens after you apply?

After an initial formal review, Fulbright Germany will give the International Office access to the eligible applications from its university. The International Office will then nominate five applicants and confirm their participation in the university’s exchange program. Fulbright Germany makes the final selection, taking into account the applications, the references, and information provided by the universities.

Fulbright Germany will inform applicants of the results starting in March 2027. Selected Travel Grant recipients will also be invited to the German Programs Orientation Days, held as part of the Fulbright Berlin Enrichment Seminar from April 22 to 25, 2027, in Berlin.

🌍 Möchtest du Mentor*in für internationale Studierende werden?

Das Internationale Mentoring Programm der Universität Bielefeld sucht engagierte Studierende, die im kommenden Semester internationale Studierende unterstützen, Menschen aus verschiedenen Ländern kennenlernen und ihre interkulturellen sowie kommunikativen Fähigkeiten weiterentwickeln möchten.

🤝 Du kannst unabhängig von deiner Nationalität oder deinem Studienfach mitmachen.

Als Mentor*in triffst du dich mindestens sechsmal mit deinem Mentee, nimmst an einer Veranstaltung teil und erhältst für dein Engagement ein Zertifikat. 🎓

📅 Die nächste Einführungsveranstaltung findet am 6. Oktober von 18 bis 20 Uhr statt. Die Teilnahme an dieser Veranstaltung ist Voraussetzung, um Mentor*in zu werden.

🤝 You can join regardless of your nationality or field of study.

As a mentor, you’ll meet your mentee at least 6 times, join for an event, and receive a certificate for your commitment. 🎓

📅 The next introductory event is 6 October, 6–8 pm. This event is mandatory to become a mentor.

Sep bis Dez 2026 (Frist) Digitale Option im DAAD-Programm "Master im Ausland"

Ein Masterstudium an einer ausländischen Hochschule muss nicht immer mit einem Umzug ins Ausland verbunden sein. Im Rahmen des DAAD-Programms „Masterstudium im Ausland“ kann in begründeten Fällen auch ein digitales oder Blended-Learning-Masterstudium an einer ausländischen Hochschule gefördert werden. Das Angebot richtet sich insbesondere an Studierende, die aufgrund gesundheitlicher oder familiärer Gründe keine längere physische Auslandsmobilität realisieren können.

Wichtig: Die Bewerbungsfristen unterscheiden sich je nach Zielland bzw. Zielregion. Für viele Regionen liegen die Fristen bereits zwischen September und Dezember für einen Förderbeginn im darauffolgenden Studienjahr. Wer eine Bewerbung plant, sollte sich daher frühzeitig über die für das Wunschland geltende Frist informieren und ausreichend Zeit für die Zusammenstellung der Bewerbungsunterlagen einplanen. Der Bewerbungszeitraum im DAAD-Portal beginnt in der Regel bereits im Juni.

A Master’s degree programme at a foreign university does not always have to involve moving abroad. Under the DAAD’s ‘Master’s Degree Abroad’ programme, funding may also be available, in justified cases, for a digital or blended-learning Master’s degree programme at a foreign university. This opportunity is aimed in particular at students who, for health or family reasons, are unable to undertake a longer period of physical mobility abroad.

Important: Application deadlines vary depending on the destination country or region. For many regions, the deadlines fall between September and December for funding to commence in the following academic year. Anyone planning to apply should therefore find out well in advance what the deadline is for their chosen country and allow sufficient time to compile their application documents. The application period on the DAAD portal usually begins as early as June.

Schule weltweit erleben

SCHULWÄRTS! vermittelt und fördert zwei- bis viermonatige Schulpraktika an Schulen in über 40 Ländern weltweit, die vom Goethe-Institut betreut werden.

Bewerben können sich:

Lehramtsstudierende aller Schulformen und Fächerkombinationen,

Experience school life around the world

SCHULWÄRTS! arranges and supports two- to four-month teaching placements at schools in over 40 countries worldwide, supervised by the Goethe-Institut.

The following are eligible to apply:

Teacher training students for all types of school and subject combinations,
prospective teachers,
and teachers up to the age of 35.

An internship abroad offers you the opportunity to gain international teaching experience, develop intercultural skills and gain valuable insights into everyday school life in other countries.

Applications and deadlines

Applications can only be submitted via the application portal and will open on 1 October 2026. The application period closes at 23:59 on 31 October 2026.

Online information sessions

To support anyone interested, two non-binding online information sessions are being offered. During these online sessions, which last around 90 minutes and are held via Microsoft Teams, the programme will be presented, the application process explained, and there will be an opportunity to ask questions about the work placement and funding. The dates will be announced in good time on the SCHULWÄRTS! website.

Important notice

For work placements in 2027, there will be only one regular application round. This covers all work placements throughout 2027. Anyone wishing to take part should therefore ensure they meet the application deadline. Du bist gerade von deinem Auslandssemester oder Praktikum im Ausland zurückgekehrt und möchtest deine Erfahrungen weitergeben? Dann könnte das Programm „Back to School“ genau das Richtige für dich sein.

Was ist „Back to School”?

„Back to School“ ist eine Programmlinie von Europa macht Schule, die vom DAAD organisiert wird. Ziel ist es, Studierenden die Möglichkeit zu geben, ihre Auslandserfahrungen direkt an Schulen in Deutschland weiterzugeben.

Als Teilnehmer*in besuchst du eine Schulklasse (zum Beispiel an deiner ehemaligen Schule) und gestaltest dort ein kleines Projekt über dein Gastland und deine Zeit im Ausland. Dabei geht es nicht nur um einen klassischen Vortrag. Besonders wichtig ist ein interaktives Format, bei dem Schüler*innen aktiv mitmachen und einen authentischen Einblick in das Leben und Studieren im Ausland bekommen können.

Wie läuft ein „Back-to-School“-Projekt ab?

Das Projekt ist überschaubar und flexibel gestaltbar:

1. Anmeldung beim Programm

2. Kontaktaufnahme mit einer Schule (z. B. deiner ehemaligen Schule)

3. Planung einer Projektidee gemeinsam mit einer Lehrkraft

4. Durchführung des Projekts im Unterricht

5. Schreiben eines kurzen Projektberichts

Das Projekt selbst umfasst mindestens zwei Unterrichtsstunden (90 Minuten).

Welche Themen sind möglich?

Bei der Themenwahl bist du relativ frei. Wichtig ist nur, dass dein Projekt kreativ ist, zum Alter der Schulklasse passt und die Schüler*innen aktiv einbindet.

Mögliche Ideen könnten sein:

Alltag und Studium in deinem Gastland
kulturelle Unterschiede und Gemeinsamkeiten
typische Speisen, Traditionen oder Feste
Tipps für Auslandsaufenthalte
persönliche Erfahrungen aus deinem Erasmus-Semester oder Praktikum

Was bringt dir die Teilnahme?

Neben der Möglichkeit, deine Auslandserfahrungen weiterzugeben, bietet „Back to School“ auch einige Vorteile:

Du trainierst deine Präsentations- und Kommunikationsfähigkeiten.
Du inspirierst Schüler*innen, selbst einen Auslandsaufenthalt zu planen.
Du leistest einen Beitrag zu internationalem Austausch und europäischer Verständigung.
Du erhältst ein Zertifikat des DAAD, das sich gut im Lebenslauf macht.
Zusätzlich gibt es eine Aufwandsentschädigung von 45 € sowie ggf. eine Erstattung der Fahrtkosten.

Have you just returned from your semester abroad or internship abroad and would like to share your experiences? Then the "Back to School" programme could be just right for you.

What is "Back to School"?

"Back to School" is a programme run by "Europa macht Schule" and organised by the DAAD. The aim is to give students the opportunity to share their experiences abroad directly with schools in Germany.

As a participant, you will visit a school class (for example, at your former school) and organise a small project about your host country and your time abroad. This is not just a traditional presentation. It is particularly important to use an interactive format in which pupils can actively participate and gain an authentic insight into life and studying abroad.

How does a "Back to School" project work?

The project is straightforward and flexible:

1. Register for the programme

2. Contact a school (e.g. your former school)

3. Plan a project idea together with a teacher

4. Carry out the project in class

5. Write a short project report

The project itself comprises at least two lessons (90 minutes).

What topics are possible?

You are relatively free to choose your topic. The only important thing is that your project is creative, appropriate for the age of the school class and actively involves the pupils.

Possible ideas could be:

Everyday life and studying in your host country
Cultural differences and similarities
Typical foods, traditions or festivals
Tips for stays abroad
Personal experiences from your Erasmus semester or internship

What are the benefits of participating?

In addition to the opportunity to share your experiences abroad, "Back to School" also offers a number of advantages:

You will train your presentation and communication skills.
You will inspire pupils to plan their own stay abroad.
You contribute to international exchange and European understanding.
You receive a certificate from the DAAD, which looks good on your CV.
In addition, you receive an expense allowance of €45 and, if applicable, reimbursement of travel expenses.

🌍 Was ist „Das Fliegende Seniorenheim“?

In diesem besonderen Projekt nehmen Studierende Senior*innen mit auf eine Reise rund um die Welt – und das ganz ohne Flughafenschlange oder Kofferpacken. In Form von Vorträgen mit Bildern und Videos berichten junge Menschen von ihren Auslandsaufenthalten oder Reisen. Dabei geht es nicht nur um fremde Länder und Kulturen, sondern auch um persönliche Eindrücke, Begegnungen und Erlebnisse.

🎞️ Reiseerinnerungen teilen, Geschichten erzählen, Brücken bauen.

In this special project, students take senior citizens on a trip around the world - without having to queue at the airport or pack their suitcases. In form of presentations with pictures and videos, young people report their stays or trips abroad. It's not just about foreign countries and cultures, but also about personal impressions, encounters and experiences.

🎞️ Share travel memories, tell stories, build bridges.

Experience shows: The senior citizens are enthusiastic, listen attentively, ask questions and often share their own memories. The result is a lively, inspiring exchange - a genuine intergenerational encounter.

Are you back from your stay abroad and can you imagine sharing your experiences with school pupils, e.g. at your former school?

Contribute to understanding within Europe and beyond its borders and be an ambassador for your host country!

The DAAD "Back to School" programme gives you an easy opportunity to visit a school, e.g. one of your former schools, and create a small interactive project (90 min.) with school pupils from a year group of your choice.

For your volunteer work, you will receive an honorarium, a certificate from the DAAD and, after prior consultation, reimbursement of your travel costs to the school.
