15.05.2026 (Frist) Cross-Border Studies Programm – Dein Sprung ins Auslandssemester 🌍

Du spielst mit dem Gedanken, ein Semester im Ausland zu verbringen, weißt aber noch nicht, wie du das finanzieren sollst? Dann könnte das Cross-Border Studies Programm genau das Richtige für dich sein!

Das Mobilitätsprogramm der Phoenix Contact-Stiftung unterstützt Studierende der Technischen Fakultät dabei, internationale Erfahrungen sowohl innerhalb als auch außerhalb Europas zu sammeln. Die Fakultät und das International Office der Universität Bielefeld begrüßen dieses Angebot ausdrücklich und ermutigen dich, die Chance zu nutzen und ein Auslandssemester an einer der zahlreichen Partnerhochschulen zu absolvieren.

Zielgruppe

Das Programm richtet sich an:

ordentlich eingeschriebene Studierende an der Technischen Fakultät (ausgenommen Gast- und Zweithörer*innen)
ab dem 2. Fachsemester (BA)
Masterstudierende ab dem 1. Fachsemester

Förderung

Es werden Studienaufenthalte im Ausland zwischen drei und sechs Monaten gefördert. Die monatliche Rate beträgt 500€ pro Monat (max. Fördersumme 3.000€), welche zu zwei Dritteln vor (bzw. während) des Auslandsaufenthaltes ausgezahlt wird.

Pro Kalenderjahr werden insgesamt zwei Stipendien vergeben. Besonders praktisch: Das Stipendium kann mit anderen Förderungen kombiniert werden (z.B. Erasmus+).

Bewerbung

Die Ausschreibung erfolgt einmal jährlich im März.

Nächster Bewerbungszeitraum: 13.04. – 15.05.2026

Die Nutzung des Stipendiums ist im darauffolgenden akademischen Jahr möglich; also entweder im Winter- oder Sommersemester.

Auswahl

Die Auswahl der Bewerber*innen und Rückmeldungen der Stiftung sind zum 15.06. zu erwarten. Im Anschluss wird der Fördervertrag zwischen Stiftung und Studierenden abgeschlossen.

Are you thinking about spending a semester abroad but aren’t sure how to fund it? Then the Cross-Border Studies Programme could be just the thing for you!

The Phoenix Contact Foundation’s mobility programme supports students at the Faculty of Engineering in gaining international experience both within and outside Europe. The Faculty and the International Office at Bielefeld University wholeheartedly welcome this opportunity and encourage you to take advantage of it by spending a semester abroad at one of the many partner universities.

Eligible Applicants

The programme is aimed at:

students regularly enrolled at the Faculty of Engineering (excluding guest students and those taking courses as auditors)
from the 2nd semester onwards (BA)
Master’s students from the 1st semester onwards

Funding

Study placements abroad lasting between three and six months are eligible for funding. The monthly grant amounts to €500 per month (maximum total grant of €3,000), two-thirds of which is paid out before (or during) the stay abroad.

A total of two scholarships are awarded per calendar year. A particularly useful feature is that the scholarship can be combined with other funding schemes (e.g. Erasmus+).

Application

Applications are invited once a year.

Next application period: 13 April – 15 May 2026

The scholarship can be used in the following academic year; that is, either in the winter or summer semester.

Selection process

The selection of applicants and the Foundation’s responses are expected by 15 June. Following this, the funding agreement will be concluded between the Foundation and the students.

Why it’s worth applying

A semester abroad is more than just a change of scenery: you’ll gain international experience, improve your language skills and make friends all over the world. Programmes such as the Cross-Border Studies Scholarship make this step much easier. So if you fancy broadening your horizons and taking your studies to an international level, you shouldn’t miss out on this opportunity!

Du studierst im Master oder promovierst und interessierst dich für Zukunftstechnologien? Dann solltest du jetzt unbedingt weiterlesen: Das Stipendienprogramm „Technologien der Zukunft“ der Französischen Botschaft bietet dir die Chance, für mehrere Monate in Frankreich mit finanzieller Unterstützung zu forschen.

Worum geht es?

Das Programm fördert junge Forschende aus Deutschland, die sich mit neuen Technologien beschäftigen. Dabei spielt die Fachrichtung keine Rolle. Ob KI, Nachhaltigkeit, digitale Innovationen oder andere zukunftsweisende Themen: Wenn dein Projekt dazu passt, hast du gute Chancen.

Dein Forschungsaufenthalt in Frankreich

Gefördert wird ein Aufenthalt von:

Are you currently studying for a master’s degree or a PhD and interested in future technologies? If so, you really should read on: the French Embassy’s ‘Technologies of the Future’ scholarship programme offers you the chance to conduct research in France for several months with financial support.

What is it about?

The programme supports young researchers from Germany who are working on new technologies. The specific field of study is irrelevant. Whether it’s AI, sustainability, digital innovation or other forward-looking topics: if your project fits the bill, you stand a good chance.

Your research stay in France

Funding is available for a stay of:

1 to 3 months
at a university or research institute in France
Start date: 1 September to 31 December 2026

Who is eligible to apply?

Undergraduate students (research-oriented Master’s programmes), PhD students and postdoctoral researchers
who are affiliated with a university or research institution in Germany
Important: French nationals (including those with dual nationality) are not eligible

How much funding will you receive?

The monthly grant varies depending on your status:

Master’s students (research-oriented): €1,200
PhD students: €1,850
Postdocs: €2,100

Vom 29. August bis 4. September 2026 lädt der Rotarische Freundeskreis für das Neue Kreisau e.V. / roropa junge Erwachsene zwischen 18 und 26 Jahren zu einem internationalen Seminar in die Jugendbegegnungsstätte Kreisau (Krzyżowa) in Polen ein.

Das Thema: Together for democracy, dialogue and peace in Europe.

Kreisau ist kein gewöhnlicher Veranstaltungsort. Hier leistete der Kreisauer Kreis Widerstand gegen den Nationalsozialismus, und 1989 fand die historische deutsch-polnische Versöhnungsmesse statt. Heute ist Kreisau ein lebendiger Ort des Dialogs – und genau das macht dieses Seminar so besonders.

30 Teilnehmende – je 15 mit Wohnsitz in Deutschland und in Polen – kommen für eine Woche zusammen, um über Geschichte, Identität und die Zukunft Europas zu diskutieren.

Die Seminarsprache ist Englisch, Vorkenntnisse in Polnisch oder einer anderen Sprache sind nicht erforderlich.

Geführte Tour durch Kreisau und Gespräch mit Zeitzeugen
Ausflug nach Breslau (Wrocław) und Świdnica
Round-Table mit Dr. Axel Smend und Elmar Brok

Die Kosten für Unterkunft (Mehrbettzimmer), Vollverpflegung und das gesamte Seminarprogramm betragen 300 Euro pro Person. Das Seminar wird finanziell unterstützt durch das Deutsch-Polnische Jugendwerk und die Stiftung für Deutsch-Polnische Zusammenarbeit.

From 29 August to 4 September 2026, the Rotary Friends' Circle for the New Kreisau e.V. / roropa invites young adults aged 18 to 26 to an international seminar at the Kreisau International Youth Meeting Centre (Krzyżowa) in Poland.

The theme: Together for democracy, dialogue and peace in Europe.

Kreisau is no ordinary venue. It was here that the Kreisau Circle resisted National Socialism, and in 1989 the landmark German-Polish Reconciliation Mass took place. Today, Kreisau remains a living place of dialogue – and that is what makes this seminar so special.

30 participants – 15 residing in Germany and 15 residing in Poland – will spend one week together discussing history, identity and the future of Europe.

The seminar language is English; no knowledge of Polish or any other language is required.

Programme highlights:

Guided tour of Kreisau and talks with contemporary witnesses
Excursion to Wrocław (Breslau) and Świdnica
Round-table discussion with Dr. Axel Smend and Elmar Brok
Workshops on dialogue, theatre, nature and digital space
Documentary film screening, farewell evening and bonfire

The cost for accommodation (shared rooms), full board and the entire seminar programme is 300 euros per person.

Back to School: Teile deine Auslandserfahrung mit Schüler*innen

Du bist gerade von deinem Auslandssemester oder Praktikum im Ausland zurückgekehrt und möchtest deine Erfahrungen weitergeben? Dann könnte das Programm „Back to School“ genau das Richtige für dich sein.

Was ist „Back to School”?

„Back to School“ ist eine Programmlinie von Europa macht Schule, die vom DAAD organisiert wird. Ziel ist es, Studierenden die Möglichkeit zu geben, ihre Auslandserfahrungen direkt an Schulen in Deutschland weiterzugeben.

Als Teilnehmer*in besuchst du eine Schulklasse (zum Beispiel an deiner ehemaligen Schule) und gestaltest dort ein kleines Projekt über dein Gastland und deine Zeit im Ausland. Dabei geht es nicht nur um einen klassischen Vortrag. Besonders wichtig ist ein interaktives Format, bei dem Schüler*innen aktiv mitmachen und einen authentischen Einblick in das Leben und Studieren im Ausland bekommen können.

Wie läuft ein „Back-to-School“-Projekt ab?

Das Projekt ist überschaubar und flexibel gestaltbar:

1. Anmeldung beim Programm

2. Kontaktaufnahme mit einer Schule (z. B. deiner ehemaligen Schule)

3. Planung einer Projektidee gemeinsam mit einer Lehrkraft

4. Durchführung des Projekts im Unterricht

5. Schreiben eines kurzen Projektberichts

Das Projekt selbst umfasst mindestens zwei Unterrichtsstunden (90 Minuten).

Welche Themen sind möglich?

Bei der Themenwahl bist du relativ frei. Wichtig ist nur, dass dein Projekt kreativ ist, zum Alter der Schulklasse passt und die Schüler*innen aktiv einbindet.

Mögliche Ideen könnten sein:

Alltag und Studium in deinem Gastland
kulturelle Unterschiede und Gemeinsamkeiten
typische Speisen, Traditionen oder Feste
Tipps für Auslandsaufenthalte
persönliche Erfahrungen aus deinem Erasmus-Semester oder Praktikum

Was bringt dir die Teilnahme?

Neben der Möglichkeit, deine Auslandserfahrungen weiterzugeben, bietet „Back to School“ auch einige Vorteile:

Du trainierst deine Präsentations- und Kommunikationsfähigkeiten.
Du inspirierst Schüler*innen, selbst einen Auslandsaufenthalt zu planen.
Du leistest einen Beitrag zu internationalem Austausch und europäischer Verständigung.
Du erhältst ein Zertifikat des DAAD, das sich gut im Lebenslauf macht.
Zusätzlich gibt es eine Aufwandsentschädigung von 45 € sowie ggf. eine Erstattung der Fahrtkosten.

Have you just returned from your semester abroad or internship abroad and would like to share your experiences? Then the "Back to School" programme could be just right for you.

What is "Back to School"?

"Back to School" is a programme run by "Europa macht Schule" and organised by the DAAD. The aim is to give students the opportunity to share their experiences abroad directly with schools in Germany.

As a participant, you will visit a school class (for example, at your former school) and organise a small project about your host country and your time abroad. This is not just a traditional presentation. It is particularly important to use an interactive format in which pupils can actively participate and gain an authentic insight into life and studying abroad.

How does a "Back to School" project work?

The project is straightforward and flexible:

1. Register for the programme

2. Contact a school (e.g. your former school)

3. Plan a project idea together with a teacher

4. Carry out the project in class

5. Write a short project report

The project itself comprises at least two lessons (90 minutes).

What topics are possible?

You are relatively free to choose your topic. The only important thing is that your project is creative, appropriate for the age of the school class and actively involves the pupils.

Possible ideas could be:

Everyday life and studying in your host country
Cultural differences and similarities
Typical foods, traditions or festivals
Tips for stays abroad
Personal experiences from your Erasmus semester or internship

What are the benefits of participating?

In addition to the opportunity to share your experiences abroad, "Back to School" also offers a number of advantages:

You will train your presentation and communication skills.
You will inspire pupils to plan their own stay abroad.
You contribute to international exchange and European understanding.
You receive a certificate from the DAAD, which looks good on your CV.
In addition, you receive an expense allowance of €45 and, if applicable, reimbursement of travel expenses.

Du bist aus dem Ausland zurück oder hast spannende Reiseerlebnisse gesammelt, die du gerne teilen möchtest? Dann aufgepasst: Das Projekt „Das Fliegende Seniorenheim“ der Bielefelder Bürgerstiftung sucht engagierte Studierende wie dich!

🌍 Was ist „Das Fliegende Seniorenheim“?

In diesem besonderen Projekt nehmen Studierende Senior*innen mit auf eine Reise rund um die Welt – und das ganz ohne Flughafenschlange oder Kofferpacken. In Form von Vorträgen mit Bildern und Videos berichten junge Menschen von ihren Auslandsaufenthalten oder Reisen. Dabei geht es nicht nur um fremde Länder und Kulturen, sondern auch um persönliche Eindrücke, Begegnungen und Erlebnisse.

🎞️ Reiseerinnerungen teilen, Geschichten erzählen, Brücken bauen.

Die Erfahrung zeigt: Die Senior*innen sind begeistert, hören aufmerksam zu, stellen Fragen und teilen oft auch eigene Erinnerungen. Es entsteht ein lebendiger, inspirierender Austausch – eine echte intergenerationelle Begegnung.

🌍 What is ‘The Flying Retirement Home’?

In this special project, students take senior citizens on a trip around the world - without having to queue at the airport or pack their suitcases. In form of presentations with pictures and videos, young people report their stays or trips abroad. It's not just about foreign countries and cultures, but also about personal impressions, encounters and experiences.

🎞️ Share travel memories, tell stories, build bridges.

Experience shows: The senior citizens are enthusiastic, listen attentively, ask questions and often share their own memories. The result is a lively, inspiring exchange - a genuine intergenerational encounter.
